A story about sunlight, well-being, the Spanish philosophy of life and the pursuit of the good life

We find ourself on Spain's southernmost coastline, which has been given the name Costa del Sol by the tourist industry. The Sun Coast. Helped along the way by charter tourism, the sunny coastline has become the place where dreams live. It is the area that Scandinavians and Northern Europeans like to travel to when it gets too dark and the thermometer gets too close to zero in their home countries. Several of them like the Costa del Sol so much that they choose to stay. Some of them are Danes. Some of them are pensioners.

This is the story of Danish pensioners who choose to settle permanently or part-time on the Costa del Sol. It is an account of their everyday life in Spain and of life in the Denmark they are leaving in an attempt to make life better. In the attempt to make life better. It is the story of the pursuit of the good life. Because what does the good life look like? Is it a static thing? And does life actually improve by being in an area with a lot of sunlight?
